True Detective Review (NO SPOILERS)

I usually do not review tv shows but this show deserves it. This show is the best show I've seen since Breaking Bad (my all-time favorite show) and I need to talk about it.

When you look at the cast for this show you have to kind of expect it to me amazing. Oscar winner Matthew McConaughey, Academy Award Nominee Woody Harrelson, and the list goes on. I absolutely love this show.

The series follows two detectives Rust and Marty as they talk to authorities about a 17 year old hunt they had for a religious serial killer. Through out the show it is mostly the case that you are seeing, with occasionally reverting back to the present in the interviewing room the police station.

The two characters are completely different and would make the worst friends. But their personalities have the perfect formula for an extremely effective crime solving team.

Rust Cohle- played  by Matthew McConauhey beautifully, is an ex drug unit turned homicide detective. Rust is super smart and the best detective in Louisiana but where he gains in his law enforcement skill set, he falls in being anti-social and being mostly a loner. All the experiences Rust has been through has given him an unmistakable sense of integrity. which makes the character very likable to the audience.

Marty Hart- played by Woody Harrelson, is the family man with more than a few skeletons in his closet. Marty is a pretty standard detective, besides protecting his girls and struggling to keep his wife happy and protecting Rust from getting into trouble with his loud mouth, he has a bit of a dark side that Rust and some of the audience even are able to look past after seeing that deep down he really is good guy.

Overall I'm giving the show a 10/10. I can't poke any holes in it. Fantastic cast, fantastic story. Pure amazingness.
