Why Avengers Was In My Opinion The Greatest Movie Of All Time.

Beside from being just plain insanely AWESOME, this movie did so many things right for a super hero or any action movie that's ever been made today.
This is the first superhero team up movie that has solo hero's with separate fan bases that come together in one super hero mash up. Never has anything of this magnitude been done before. To do this you have to set rules while right the script. Here's a list of things this movie needed and succeeded in performing for its fans.

1. Character Overshadowing- This is the most important thing to bring to a movie where each super hero has a separate fan base. No character in the Avengers was left in the dark. Each one had separate confrontations with Loki where they came out on top in some way. Even during the huge action scene at the end, everyone had a specific part to do and accomplished it beautifully.

2. Action Sequences Show How They Fought As A Team- was this necessarily needed for the movie? I think in some way yes. They need to be believable as a force to be reckoned with and as you see in the video above they bounce off each others powers in way that it not only shows how powerful the Avengers really are as a team but it is extremely entertaining to watch.

3. Was Really Funny!- From your every day Tony Stark jokes you come to love to jokes that kind of throw you off guard with laughter like Thor's "he's adopted" quote. And I have to mention Hulk's smashing up the floor with Loki. No joke was unoriginal. You can tell that Josh Whedon took some risks with them and I'm really glad he did.

4. Stayed True To Other Solo Hero Stories- It was all piece together very well and for those who keep up with all of the other movies, this Marvel universe is almost going to be like chapters in one big book. Very happy Marvel decided to do it this way. Its all very fun to follow along with.

5. My Waiting Was Not In Vain!- I had waited 4 years for this movie to come out. Nothing felt better than sitting in the theater as the movie started. Ever since it was announced in 2008 at the end credits of Ironman I have been praying I didn't die before that movie came out. And it did NOT disappoint. I'll definitely be getting my Avengers 2 tickets for the midnight premiere in 2015.

Well that's my reasons why I feel the movie was THE BEST MOVIE OF ALL TIME. Leave a comment below if you agree, disagree or just have something to add!

Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug Review (SPOILERS)

I FINALLY saw The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug last night and I have to say I loved it quite a bit. I'm going to be giving away some spoilers but I'm still going to keep it fairly brief for those of you who don't mind a little bit of spoilers without giving away the whole movie. Some people have been complaining that they didn't like the side missions they took before they got to the mountain but I didn't really see any that was much for a side mission. I don't count when Gandolf went off and confronted Sauron a side mission since the dwarves were still on their main objective.
I loved the action sequences! They were pure awesomeness. When the dwarves were escaping the wood elve's prisons in the river and the elves were just going insane with arrows on the orcs. (and good to see Orlando Bloom back in something that's not shitty) And the elves themselves were perfectly designed to express the physical beauty and immortality of their race. All of it was so much fun, magical and really gave me that middle earth experience.

I did find myself wondering why the dwarves follow Thorin tho. Clearly out of his mind and willing to risk anyone's life his home back, he quickly became my least favorite character. This isn't a complaint about the movie whatsoever but more just noting that if Thorin was real then I'd never hang out with him.
The dragon was great. Benedict Cumberbatch did amazing. The fact that Smaug's facial expressions were a motion capture of BC's facial expressions really brought the intensity and feeling to Smaug and I think they took a good route with that.

Overall I LOVED the movie and I will most likely be visiting a theater before the showing ends to get another helping.

Worst Movie Death I've Seen In A Long Time!

One thing I'd like to bring up on this blog is the scene where Talia Al Ghul dies in The Dark Knight Rises. It was so bad!

Some people are speculating saying that it was bad acting on purpose but I highly doubt that. Christopher Nolan would never ruin the vibe of a movie by purposely welcoming bad acting to a movie that is clearly not a comedy. My guess is Christopher Nolan respects her and didn't want to insult her but is also confident enough in the movie to know it wasn't going to take anything away. This is the second movie they've done together so who knows how they're relationship is. This is one that pops into my head when I think about horrible movie deaths. Whats yours? 2015...The Year Of The Movie.

This year for movies is definitely the billion dollar year for movies. SO many seat fillers coming out. A lot of them I'm predicting will hit the billion dollar mark. But here in my opinion is the top money makers. And some box office all-time "Billion Dollar Predictions"-BDP.

1. Avengers 2- have to mention Avengers 2 because, in my opinion, Avengers was the greatest movie of all time. (I'll do a separate post telling you why). Which actually did hit the billion dollar mark. BDP.

2. Batman vs. Superman- who doesn't want to see this? At first it didn't make sense to me. Why would Batman go against Superman? Remember after "Man of Steel 2" Clark kind of left the world uneasy with him. He did save it but was also the main reason it was almost destroyed. No one knows if they can trust him. Especially Batman. So I'm excited to see how or if this goes into the story at all. BDP.

3. Star Wars Episode VII- If this doesn't reach the billion dollar mark I will fall out of my chair. I can not wait for this. I know J.J Abrams is directing and I love how he did the Star Trek movies. (yes even the lens flares) And to be honest I think its in good hands. Tough to talk about this more because the studio is being really hush hush about it. BDP

4. Fifty Shades of Grey- I'll be the first to tell you I don't really care about this coming out. But its extremely successful, huge fan following. Will it hit the billion dollar mark? Ehhhh, probably not. But you can bet its going to make a TON of money. More than enough for the studios to give the sequels a go ahead.

5. Ant-man- I'll admit I know nothing about Ant-man. From what I gathered he shrinks and grows, has super strength and he can talk to ants......BUT....I love Marvel and everything they are doing to this cinematic universe and don't forget Paul Rudd is Ant-man! I know I'm gonna be leaving the theater a new fan.

6. Avatar 2- Avatar was another one that hit the billion dollar mark as well, for the simple fact that it was visually stunning. It still holds 1st place for best 3D movie I've seen to date. You can bet this movie is going to be racking in the dough, which is why its my final BDP.

What do you think? Have any your excited for? Or what about your BDP's? Let me know in the comments below.
